Time off may not be available for your company yet.
Time > Time Off is where you set up time off policies and holiday calendars and handle your team’s requests. Company Admins and HR Admins can use it once your company has finished payroll and company onboarding, and managers can use it for their own team. Everyone, admins included, requests their own time off from their profile.

Tabs

If your company has no policies yet, admins see Get started on the Overview tab, which opens a new policy.

Create a policy or calendar

Admins select Add new and choose Calendar or Policy.
  • Policy: give it a Policy name, choose who it Applies to and the Policy type, such as Vacation, Sick, Floating Holiday or Custom. Then set whether it’s limited or unlimited, paid or unpaid, how it accrues, and any maximum balance, carryover or tenure tiers.
  • Calendar: choose Country based or Custom, give it a Calendar name and Year, and add its Holidays.
New policies and calendars stay in Draft until you turn on Publish. Once a policy is published, the people it applies to can start using it. To stop using a policy, archive it. Archiving ends active benefits for enrolled people but keeps approved time off and balance history.

Handle requests

Each request shows the person’s Name, the Dates, Reason, Type, Days, Status and Payment. Open a request’s menu to act on it:
  • Approve or Deny a request that’s waiting on you. If approving would take someone’s balance below zero, the approval shows a Balance will go negative warning.
  • Edit request changes a request. Only admins can edit.
  • Cancel request cancels it. This can’t be undone, and the request stays in the list as Cancelled.
Approvers can also follow the link in a request email to approve or reject it from this page. You can’t approve your own request. To see one person’s time off and balances, open their profile in All people and go to Time off.
