The org chart, bulk import and the editable people table may not be available for your company yet.
People lists your employees, contractors and external admins in one place. Company Admins and HR Admins can use it once your company has payroll and has finished payroll and company onboarding.

The people list

Each row shows the person’s Name, Department, Manager, Type, Location, Status and Title. Use Display to show more columns, such as Start date, Pay Schedule, Compensation or Email, and to turn on Show terminated users or Show external admins.
  • Status tells you where someone stands: Active, Onboarding incomplete, I-9 incomplete, Termination scheduled on a date, Terminated, Inactive or Deleted.
  • Change a person’s Department, Manager, Secondary Manager, Title, Date of Birth, Phone Number or Email right in the table. Timesheet type can be changed for hourly people. Select several cells in one column to change them together.
  • Select rows and choose Export to download them as a CSV file.
  • Open a row’s menu for View Profile and Send Invite. While someone is still onboarding you’ll also see Onboard, Edit offer letter and Delete. Deleted people can be brought back with Reactivate employee.
At the top of the page you’ll find:

Person profiles

Open a person to see their profile. If they haven’t finished onboarding, you’ll land back in their hire instead. The tabs depend on whether they’re an employee or a contractor. On Docs you can upload a document, choose whether it’s Visible to employee, and restore anything deleted from Recently deleted.

Make changes to a person

Company Admins and HR Admins can edit the Job & pay details. The Actions menu on a profile holds the bigger changes. Depending on the person and what your company has, it includes:
  • Edit compensation
  • Create card (Company Admins) and Create reimbursement
  • Add Deduction and Add Post-Tax Deduction (see Deductions)
  • Add recurring pay type, and Add Leave or Edit Leave
  • Convert to employee, for contractors
  • Terminate employee (see Running payroll), and Mark as inactive or Reactivate
A terminated person’s profile shows a Rehire button instead, if your company has it.
