# Submit your timesheets

> Enter your hours for a pay period, submit them for review and correct your saved entries

![Time entries table with Submit for review and an hours-worked total.](https://mintcdn.com/every-a2724ddc/8n9uF_RorUlsZxU6/images/illustrations/employees-submit-timesheets-light.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=8n9uF_RorUlsZxU6\&q=85\&s=16f9f533aa2022058f49a074e2493b2d)

On **Home**, under **Things to do**, select **Submit your timesheets**. Open the task for the pay period you want to complete.

## Before you begin

A timesheet task appears on **Home** once the pay period has started and your start date has arrived. Your form asks for daily entries or total hours by job. Follow the steps for the form you see.

## Enter daily hours

**1. Add an entry**

In the pay period's sheet, select **Add new entry**.

**2. Enter the work details**

Choose the date and job, enter your hours and minutes and add a description. Select **Save** to add the entry.

**3. Review the period**

Repeat for your other work dates. Review the entries and the **Hours worked** total. Use an entry's menu to **Edit** or **Delete** it.

**4. Submit your hours**

Select **Submit for review**. To return later without submitting, select **Save as a draft**.

## Enter total hours by job

**1. Choose the job**

In the pay period's form, choose the job for the entry.

**2. Enter your hours**

Enter the total hours and minutes and a description for that job. For another job, select **+ Add another entry**.

**3. Save your hours**

Review each job's hours, then select **Save**. Saving submits your hours for review.

If the form shows “Saved, but failed to save hours for:” followed by job names, retry those jobs' hours and select **Save** again. The sheet remains open after that error.

## Correct submitted hours

On **Home**, under **Things to do** → **Submit your timesheets**, select the task that reads “Edit your hours worked between” and the period's dates.

**1. Edit an entry**

For daily entries, select **Edit** in the entry's menu and change the hours. For total hours, change the job's entry.

**2. Save the change**

Select **Save**.

**3. Resubmit daily hours**

For daily entries, select **Submit**. Total hours are submitted when you save.

## What happens next

After you submit, the period's task shows **Submitted** and reads “Edit your hours worked between” and the period's dates. You can change your hours while your company's payroll for the period is still a draft. If you change hours that were already approved, they go back for review.

## Agent reference

**Where:** **Home** → **Things to do** → **Submit your timesheets**. Each task names its pay period.

**Who:** Employees submitting their own hourly work. The Employee role can open **Home**. The entry sheets show the signed-in employee's hours.

### Facts

* A timesheet task on **Home** appears once the pay period has started and the employee's start date has arrived.
* A timesheet task on **Home** shows **Due now** before submission and **Submitted** after submission. Before submission, the task reads “Submit hours you worked between” and the period's dates. After submission, the task reads “Edit your hours worked between” and the period's dates.
* Daily timesheet sheets from **Home** list entries under **Time entries** and have **Add new entry**. Each entry has a date, job, hours, minutes and description. Select **Save** to store an entry.
* Daily timesheet entries from **Home** have **Edit** and **Delete** in the row menu. The period's sheet shows an **Hours worked** total.
* On a daily timesheet sheet from **Home**, **Submit for review** submits the hours for the first time. **Save as a draft** closes an unsubmitted daily sheet without submitting. A previously submitted daily sheet uses **Submit** for changes.
* A total-hours timesheet from **Home** has a job, hours, minutes and description per entry. **+ Add another entry** adds a block for another job and is unavailable once each job has an entry. **Save** submits the entries. **Cancel** closes the form without saving.
* If some total-hours entries fail to save on a timesheet from **Home**, the form stays open and names the jobs needing retry. The employee should retry before leaving the form.
* Daily and total-hours timesheet submissions from **Home** require the company's payroll for the period to be in draft. Changing the employee's own previously approved hours removes the prior approval.

### Questions people ask

* **How do I save daily hours without submitting?** On the period's daily sheet from **Home**, save the individual entries, then select **Save as a draft**.
* **How do I correct submitted hours?** On **Home**, open the period's edit task under **Submit your timesheets**. Save the corrected entries. Daily sheets then use **Submit**; total-hours forms use **Save**.

* **Why do my approved hours need review again?** Editing the employee's own previously approved hours removes the prior approval.
