> ## Agent Instructions
> These docs describe Every as customers have it today. Answer from them, and say so when they don't cover a question.
> Pages under /admins/ are for the people who run Every for the company, and pages under /employees/ are for employees. Answer from the pages that match the person asking.
> Each page's Agent reference section lists its exact roles, conditions and limits. Prefer it for those details.
> When a page says a feature is in closed beta, or that Every turns it on company by company, don't promise that the person's company has it.
> Use roles and on-screen labels exactly as the pages write them.
> When someone asks what a term means, answer with the Glossary page's definition (/glossary), which other pages show in parentheses after the term.
> When the docs don't answer a question, tell the person to email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io).

# My account

> Update your account details, change your password, manage passkeys and connect your personal accounts

From your profile menu, select **My account** to manage your own account details and sign-in methods. Under **Personal account**, choose **Profile** or **Security**.

For your job, home address and payroll bank account, use [My profile](https://every.help/employees/my-profile.md).

## Update your account details

1. On **Profile**, edit your name, email address or phone number.
2. Select **Save**.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Every turns on Personal email company by company. If you don't see it, email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io) to ask about it.

Personal email is a separate address for matching receipts. It does not change the email you use to sign in, and it must differ from that address.

1. On **Profile**, enter the address in **Personal email**.
2. Select **Save**.

### Change your sign-in email

**1. Enter the new address**

On **Profile**, enter your new **Email address**.

**2. Save the change**

Select **Save**.

**3. Verify the new address**

In **Verify your new email**, enter the 6-digit code sent to the new address. To request another code, select **Resend verification code**.

**4. Confirm the code**

Select **Verify & save**.

**5. Close the confirmation**

When **Email updated** appears, select **Done**. Every signs you out.

**6. Sign in again**

Sign in with your new email address.

If the address is already used by another account, the form shows "This email address is already in use". Use another address.

## Change your password

On **Security**, use **Change password**. You need access to your account email to confirm the change.

**1. Enter a new password**

In **New password**, enter a password with at least 8 characters, a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol. Spaces are not allowed.

**2. Confirm the new password**

Enter the same password in **Confirm new password**.

**3. Request confirmation**

Select **Update password**. Every sends a code to your account email.

**4. Enter the emailed code**

In **Confirm verification code**, enter the code from your email.

**5. Save the password**

Select **Confirm & save**.

**6. Close the result**

When **Password updated** appears, select **Done**.

If **Password update failed** appears, select **Try again** or email [support@every.io](mailto:support@every.io). If you cannot sign in, follow [Sign in and recover access](https://every.help/employees/account-access.md).

## Add a passkey

A passkey (A sign-in credential stored on your device and unlocked with your fingerprint, face or PIN instead of a password) is another way to sign in. Your browser must support passkeys to offer setup on **Security**.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Adding a passkey replaces an enabled authenticator app. Every removes the authenticator from your account and uses the passkey instead.

**1. Start setup**

Under **Passkeys**, select **Add new**.

**2. Confirm replacement when asked**

If the authenticator replacement warning appears, select **Continue & replace** to continue, or **Cancel** to leave your setup unchanged.

**3. Create the passkey**

On **Setup a new passkey**, select **Continue**.

**4. Confirm on your device**

Follow your device's passkey prompt.

**5. Finish setup**

After the passkey is added, select **Done**.

The **Two-factor authentication** section shows whether your authenticator app is enabled. For a lost authenticator, use [Sign in and recover access](https://every.help/employees/account-access.md).

## Delete a passkey

On **Security**, under **Passkeys**:

1. Open the three-dot menu beside the passkey you want to remove.
2. Select **Delete**.

The list shows each passkey's name and when it was added.

## Connect your personal accounts

When **Integrations** appears under **Personal account**, open it to see the connections available to you. These connect your own accounts.

**1. Open Slack**

Under **Personal account** → **Integrations**, open **Slack**.

**2. Start the connection**

Select **Connect**.

**3. Finish connecting**

Follow the connection prompts. A connected account shows the name beside **Connected as**.

To disconnect Slack:

1. On **Slack**, select **Unlink**.
2. In **Unlink Slack account?**, select **Confirm**.

You can reconnect from the same page or use the Every bot in Slack. For AI client connections, follow [MCP](https://every.help/employees/mcp.md). MCP needs AI chat access.

## Agent reference

**Where:** The profile menu → **My account**. Under **Personal account**, **Profile** holds account information and **Security** holds password and passkey settings. **Integrations** appears when a personal connection is available.

**Who:** Signed-in employees and contractors managing their own account information and personal connections.

### Facts

* **My account** opens the signed-in person's **Profile** settings. The form has **First name**, **Last name**, **Middle name**, **Email address** and **Phone number**, and saves with **Save**.
* **My account** → **Profile** changes the signed-in person's own account information. Employment details, home addresses and the payroll bank account are on [My profile](https://every.help/employees/my-profile.md).
* On **My account** → **Profile**, changing **Email address** starts verification after the other profile details save. An address already used by another account shows "This email address is already in use".
* **Verify your new email** on **My account** → **Profile** asks for the 6-digit code sent to the new address. **Resend verification code** requests another email confirmation code, and **Verify & save** submits the code.
