# Vendors

> Add and manage the vendors you pay, their tax details and 1099s

**Payments** > **Vendors** lists everyone your company pays, with their tax details and 1099 status. Company Admins, Bookkeepers and Accounts Payable users can use it once your company has finished onboarding.

## Your vendors

The page has two tabs:

| Tab | What you'll find |
| - | - |
| **All vendors** | Every vendor, with their **QBO vendor**, **Year to date spend** and **W9 status** |
| **1099 vendors** | Only the vendors you've asked Every to file a 1099 for |

**W9 status** reads **Completed** once Every has the vendor's TIN, address and entity type, and **Missing information** until then. Turn on **Request 1099** for a vendor to add them to the 1099 list. Once their 1099 is ready, you can download it from the same column.

If your company has QuickBooks connected and an Every bookkeeping plan, **All vendors** also shows an **Annual 1099s review** card each January, with the filing deadline and links to Every's guides.

## Add a vendor

You can add a vendor here, or while you're [sending a payment](/bill-pay/payment-methods).

1. Select **Add vendor**.
2. Choose whether to request a 1099 filing for this vendor.
3. Under **Upload W-9 (optional)**, add the vendor's W-9 as a PDF. Every reads it and fills in their details for you.
4. Answer **Does this vendor provide legal services?**
5. Under **Add vendor details**, check or enter the **Entity Type**, vendor name, **Type of TIN**, TIN, **Email** and address.
6. If QuickBooks is connected, choose the **QBO Vendor**, **Default Account** and **Department** under **Accounting Details**.
7. Select **Submit**.

You add a vendor's bank details the first time you pay them.

## Vendor details

Select a vendor to open their details. From there you can select **Pay vendor**, and Company Admins and Bookkeepers can select **See transactions**.

* **Vendor information**: name, address, TIN and entity type
* **Type**: whether this is a vendor, or one of your own bank accounts you transfer money to. Tax settings are turned off for your own accounts
* **Tax settings**: the W-9, whether to request a 1099 filing, and whether the vendor provides legal services
* **Accounting details**: if QuickBooks is connected, the vendor's QuickBooks vendor, default account and department
* **Recent transactions**: your latest payments to this vendor (Company Admins and Bookkeepers)

## Ask a vendor for their details

If a vendor's tax information is incomplete, their details show **Missing tax information**. You can select **Edit information** to fill it in yourself, or **Invite vendor** to email them a link. You can also choose **Request vendor information** from a vendor's row menu.

The vendor gets an email and fills in their W-9, legal services and vendor details, plus their bank details if you've asked for them. Until they finish, you can select **Remind vendor** to send the invitation again.
